Taking a group class is a fun and uplifting but practicing one on one with an experienced instructor is unquestionably the best way to get results. Your reasons for practicing yoga may be very different from those of the person on the mat next to you in a group class. You might come to the mat to breathe, to heal, to tune out, to tune in, to strengthen, to lengthen, or all of the above.
No two of my private clients are identical and each one gets custom tailored instruction every time. All bodies are different; there's no such thing as cookie cutter yoga.
Some clients work individually because they have specific therapeutic concerns and need more individual instruction than is possible in a group setting. In these cases I suggest doing several private sessions. My goal is to give you enough tools and understanding to be able to mainstream into group classes.
Other people find that they get hooked on the personal attention and make private sessions a regular part of their practice.
